Your photo
1in1m is a wall of faces, so a photo of you is the whole point. Here is exactly what happens to it.
What we never do
Uploads are checked by an automated content filter for nudity and violence. That check returns a single safe-or-unsafe answer and nothing else. Specifically, we do not:
- Run face detection or recognition on your photo
- Extract, derive or store facial geometry, measurements or a face template
- Estimate your age or identity from your photo
- Sell or share your photo with advertisers or data brokers
- Use your photo in anything we publish once you have turned that off
This is deliberate rather than an oversight. Automatically judging who is in a photo, or how old they look, means analysing the face itself — and we would rather not hold that kind of data about you at all. Concerns about a photo are handled by people, after a report.
How long we keep it
- Your photo, while you hold the spot
- For as long as the spot is yours
- Shown on the wall and on your profile page. Remove it any time by replacing it.
- Your photo, once you no longer hold the spot
- Deleted immediately
- Released, refunded or transferred — the image is deleted straight away, with no grace period and no archive copy. It stops appearing on the site at once. A copy already cached by the content delivery network can take up to an hour to expire.
- A photo we could not accept
- Deleted immediately
- If the automated content check rejects an image, it is deleted rather than held. We do not keep photos we refused.
- If you delete your account
- Deleted immediately
- Delete your account yourself from your account page. Your photo and background are destroyed, your profile goes, and your number returns to the wall for somebody else. It cannot be undone and there is no grace period. If you would rather a person did it, email support@1in1m.com.
- Your photo in our own posts and collages
- Only while you allow it
- Turn it off in your account and we stop using it in anything we publish, from that moment. Anything already posted elsewhere we cannot un-publish, but we will not use it again. This is off by default for anyone who uploaded before 11 August 2026, because the wording they agreed to did not mention it.
- The moderation result
- Kept
- A safe/unsafe Boolean and the date, so a rejection can be explained. Never the image itself, and never any analysis of the face in it.
Questions, or want a photo removed? Email support@1in1m.com. This page covers photos only. When your face can appear in something we post is on social media, and the rest is in the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
